Spruce Up Your Old Hat with A Crocheted Rose

Make these bright and cheerful, yet easy crocheted roses to add a little flair to your favorite hat, scarf, or blanket! I will give you step-by-step instructions to make crocheting roses a breeze. These roses look gorgeous and only take about 15 minutes to make.

You only need a few items to get started...a medium-sized yarn (I use Red Heart does not require much to make a rose, so use up your leftover yarn supply) and a 5 mm crocheting hook. I prefer to make a variety of rose colors, so if you like the same, choose a few colors of yarn to work with.

Begin by crocheting 12 chain stitches, and connect to form a ring. Begin the first petal (there are 8 total) by double crocheting 6 into a single loop; finish the petal with 3 single crochets connecting the 6th double crochet down to the loop. Skip 2 on the initial ring. In the 3rd stitch over, create a 2nd petal. Continue to work around the ring until 4 petals are present. Starting with the 5th petal, crochet into the bottom middle of the next petal over. Continue to work in a circular pattern until 8 petals have been made. Finish by tying off and pulling yarn tail to the back. Then tie onto your favorite accessory or blanket...and you are all done!!! Crocheted roses give the perfect finish to a plain item, making it both beautiful and unique. Hope you enjoy!
