Make Coffee Time Cozier with This Snowflake Coffee Cup Cozy

Updated: Feb 19, 2019

Make a stunning knitted coffee cup sweater that will make those colder months extra cozy! I am a HUGE fan of handmade coffee mug cozies. I drink coffee like nobody's business and love having a decorative flair to the coffee cup that inevitably spends the whole day on my living room table. And it keeps the hot cup from burning your hand. How cute is this?

Difficulty Level: Advanced

Project Time: 1-2 hours

Materials:

Choose two yarn colors (red and white are used in my video), both of which should be chunkier. You will also need a large coffee cup, two buttons (I love the bigger buttons, but any buttons you happen to have lying around work), larger knitting needles (8-9 mm), and thread.

Pattern:

Cast on 25 in red.

Knit 2 rows in red.

Knit 11 in red, 1 in white, 1 in red, 1 in white, 11 in red.

Purl 12 in red, 1 in white, 12 in red.

Knit 9 in red, 1 in white, 1 in red, 3 in white, 1 in red, 1 in white, 9 in red.

Purl 10 in red, 5 in white, 10 in red.

Knit 9 in red, 1 in white, 1 in red, 3 in white, 1 in red, 1 in white, 9 in red.

Purl 12 in red, 1 in white, 12 in red.

Knit 11 in red, 1 in white, 1 in red, 1 in white, 11 in red.

Purl 2 rows in red.

Cast off.

Coffee cup cozies make great gifts but are also nice to keep for yourself! I have way too many of these sitting around my house, all made with the intention of giving away but somehow unable to leave my kitchen. Check out some other really cool knitting projects. Thanks for reading!
